Peninsula Town Center - MOD Pizza

PMA Architecture
Prominently placed at the entrance drive for Peninsula Town Center and anchored by MOD Pizza, this new retail shell was conceived of in tilt-up concrete and sought to break up the mass of the building with a variety of fascade treatments. Board formed concrete patterns and brick veneer were used to give the fascade the appearance of traditional storefronts infilled with contemporary construction. Dark painted brick at MOD Pizza further reinforced the idea of a traditional building reclaimed for a modern use. Warm cedar canopies served to soften the dark brick patterns and a provide comfortable space for outdoor dining at a busy intersection.
My involvement in this project included project management, site and building analysis, code research, schematic design, design development, construction documents, material selection and specification writing, and construction administration.
